For most of the country, we are entering the 28th week of some sort of pandemic lockdowns and closures. We have caught up on our favorite shows and discovered some new ones. We have been bombarded with the constant antics of the current President and his administrators. We have been saddened by the loss, of dignity, lives, hope, respect, and decency to say the least. Every now again we might see or share a pick me up story online or on the news. Well, I have something that does not cost a lot and is sometimes free. It is an activity you can pretty much do anywhere. you can be alone or with a group. I would like to introduce to some and reintroduce to others,

reading. Reading is a fantastic pastime.
Here are some reasons you and your family should read:
Builds Your Vocabulary: From 0 to 99 we could all benefit from an increase in vocabulary. The more words you know the easier it is to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas.
Prevents Cognitive Decline: Studies have shown reading every day keeps your brain's connections working and also strengthens them.
Reduces Stress: Reading for at least 30 minutes every day can reduce blood pressure and heart rate.
Lengthens Life Span: A study shows that averaging 3 and a half of readings a week can lengthen your lifespan by 2 and a half years.
Helps Alleviate Depression Symptoms: Many people who suffer from depression may have feelings of isolation and loneliness. Reading especially fiction helps people escape their world for a time and become apart of a community.
Great Family Activity: You can read to your kids or have them read to you. It helps build confidence in reading aloud to others. It will create life long readers. Boots future school performance.
Make your own movie. A book always you to create your own movie with your imagination.
